Welcome to the City of Mena website and more importantly to our city. As mayor, it is an honor to welcome you. Founded in 1896 as a railroad town, Mena is located at the base of Rich Mountain, Arkansas’ second highest peak and is a gateway city to the Talimena National Scenic Byway.
We are proud of our city and are excited about the future. Mena has an excellent academic system that includes The University of Arkansas at Rich Mountain, a professional police department, a well-trained fire department, a state-of-the-art hospital, a robust general aviation airport and world-renowned industries.
Mena is surrounded by abundant natural beauty with many outdoor recreation opportunities – hiking, biking, fishing, hunting, camping and ATVing. We are blessed to have playgrounds, splashpads, ballfields, tennis courts and pavilions for family gatherings. Plus, two state parks are just minutes away.
Whether looking for a place to visit or live, you are welcome in Mena.
Thank you again for visiting our website.
