On behalf of the City of Mena, I want to welcome you to our City’s website. Located near the western edge of Arkansas on U.S. Highway 71, Mena is tucked away in the heart of the Ouachita Mountains.
Whether visiting or making this your home, you will find Mena is a warm, friendly community rich in history and time-honored traditions. We have the look and feel of a small town yet offer many amenities of a large city. In addition, our area is blessed with an abundance of natural beauty. Mena is a gateway community to the Talimena National Scenic Byway which charms thousands of visitors a year with its breathtaking fall foliage and spectacular vistas.
One might be surprised to find that a town our size offers state of the art medical facilities, an outstanding educational system, including Rich Mountain Community College, a world-class airport, art galleries, museums, performing arts, convention center, and numerous churches and worship centers.
The strong tourism trade in our area, combined with a unique aviation industry and the many manufacturing, retail, and agricultural opportunities available here, allow us a very diverse economy which encourages growth, provides jobs, and a stable local economy.
The City of Mena strives to provide an excellent quality of life for our citizens including three beautiful parks, first-rate fire and police protection, cultural activities, and improved infrastructure.
If you are looking for a great place to raise a family, relocate your business, or enjoy your retirement, you’re gonna love Mena.
